The Mooney Lab is home to a 75 W Epilog Fusion 40 laser cutter. This machine is capable of cutting and engraving a range of organic materials (e.g. acrylic, plywood). If you would like to use the laser cutter you will first need to read the laser cutter safety document and tutorial. After that, go to the Mooney Lab during the evening hours and work through the Angry Bison Tutorial. A student technician will be there to help you get set up and answer any questions you might have. After you’ve gone through the tutorial once, you’ll need to repeat the process of setting up and running the machine while a student technician observes. You can be granted permission to run the machine on your own once you’ve demonstrated that you can operate it safely and passed a laser cutter quiz.
